about

Second half of completely improvised, recorded in one take with no prior practice. It is rough, if folks would like an improved version, let me know, and I'll work on it down the road. Cheers!

lyrics

WARNING EXPLICIT LYRICS (SMALL PORTION)

Because no one knows....

No one knows why we're here,
But we all just know,
we live in constant fear.
What that fear is,
well... some do know...
but no one wants... to face it as it is.
So they medicate.
or they nip and tuck.
Or we predicate
and have another fuck.

We don't know why we're here,
But we know we're in fear
of each other and what lies beyond.
And who knows what the moments hold.
We don't know why we're here,
but we live in constant fear.

Of the dreaded unknown...
Death.

Of the dreaded unknown..
the Future.

Of the dreaded unknown...
When's our next breath.

Of the dreaded unknown..
The Unknown.

We don't know why we're here,
but we know we all live in fear.

We don't know why we're here.
But we live in constant fear.

Even though we don't know why were' here,
we're livin' in constant fear.
Of the unknown.
And especially of Death.
Of the unknown.
what all we might be bereft.

We don't know why we're here.
We try to make meaning
of our meaningless existence
we try to make meaning.

Sometimes we're leaning left
sometimes we're leaning right.
sometimes we try to do
what only just seems right.

But if we don't know why we're here,
We just know we're in fear.

We don't know why we're here,
we just know we're in fear.

We don't know why we're here.
But we know we live in fear.

So few live without that fear.
Is it a Buddha world?
Or is that even another means
of not dealing with the world.

Instead of enlightenment and a great beyond,
What if there is just nothing.
Why is that so terrifying
for so many?

Because, we don't know why we're here,
but we live in fear,
making up gods and reasons
for why we're here.

Can't just BE
and accept what is.
We have to drive on
and fear what is.

We don't know why we're here.
We just know we're in fear.

We don't know why we're here.
Just living in fear.

What if the fear is all we have.
All we have to give.
What kind of life is that?
Why would you be that way and want to live?

Why not live a life
not lived in fear (raising voice slowly).
Lets find a way
to not live in fear.

Lets just accept
That we are here.
Maybe there is no why to it.
But don't have to fear.

Just be glad for the time we're given
however short that may be.
Lets make the best of it,
whatever it may be.

If we're just meanin' making machines
then let's make it mean something worthwhile.
If we're just meanin' makin' machines,
then let's make it worthwhile.

Well no one knows why we are here,
I don't care what they say.
They can try to convince themselves and others,
but its just another daydream.

I don't know why we're here,
and neither do you.
You can trick yourself with all the faith you want,
but you really don't know why you're here.

And when you have to convince yourself so hard,
you must be living in fear.
It gives you the illusion of security,
but thats a load of bull.
You don't know any more than the rest of us,
so cut the bull.

Love your neighbor, that's a good rule,
so lets live by that.
And maybe you dont know the rest of it,
lets just live by that.

We don't know why we're here,
we're livin' in fear.
Instead lets accept that we're simply here,
instead of livin' in fear.

When Death comes for us,
lets be embracing.
Instead of constantly fighting, and forcing,
and ever racing away.

We don't know why we're here,
but lets make the best of it.
Not for selfish purposes,
but for the good of all.
Lets do as much good as we can
in the short time we're here.

Though we don't know why we're here,
Let's not be for naught.

Let's not be for naught.

Let's not be for naught.
